Opening: The Nightjar, Shoreditch
Our predilection for leading a vintage-inspired life extends far beyond bespoke clothing and pretty party dresses. Soon-to-open Shoreditch speakeasy The Nightjar combines our love of stiff cocktails and early 20th century glamour, minus the pretension found at other self-hyped nightlife “hotspots.” Anticipate an eclectic calendar of gigs—from jazz ensembles to the stylings of resident DJ Jean-Paul Séculaire—when the multi-functional venue/lounge opens on Friday 19 November.
And, yes, there will be cocktails—a menu of 36 unique concoctions borne from the discerning taste of owner Edmund Weil, Shaker UK, and a staff that includes Langham Hotel alumnus Marian Beke. Cranberries and maple syrup are mixed with house-made bitters, liqueurs, and red wine in the signature Nighjar 24 Volt Cobbler, while the Ladybird is a luxe amalgamation of Santa Teresa Gran Reserva rum, Belgian truffle chocolate liqueur, Caribbean spice, and other exotic ingredients. Suffice to say you should arrive with a dry palate.
Stay tuned to Vintage Secret’s ever-updated Events page for the latest hedonistic Nightjar happenings. Chin chin, darlings!
