Get dressed up in favourite vintage attire and step back in time to revel in the glamour and allure of the magical golden era as Festival of Vintage celebrates the sights and the sounds of the 1930’s through to the 1960’s.
Taking place at York racecourse on the weekend of 28th and 29th April 2012, visitors can enjoy a full festival of activity featuring Music, Dance, Fashion & Home & More for a true 20th century vintage experience
From Swing to Rock & Roll the Festival of Vintage line up includes music from Sincerely Yours, Madeline Brown & The Polka Dots Lola Lamour, Jump Jive & Wail, and Samantha Hughes & The Groovediggers and there will be exclusive Gramophone DJ sets.
Take advantage of the free dance lessons including 1940s jive, triple time lindy hop, lindy Charleston, shim sham and jitterbug stroll. Watch fashion parades featuring timeless style throughout the decades or get pampered in the vintage beauty parlour.
Explore displays of classic vehicles or enjoy the Vintage Cinema, a new addition for 2012, featuring a collection of quirky news items, fascinating public information films and 8mm home movies to fill you with national pride!
Or come and relive the glory days and discover more about vintage clubs and enthusiasts, browse the collectors corner, a display of others vintage collections, and meet with vintage experts.
A collectors dream, the festival of vintage will also bring together over 100 dealers from across the UK, the showcasing the best of vintage Fashion, Ceramics, Textiles, Music, Toys, Furniture, Books & Magazines from the nostalgic time capsule of the 30’s, 40’s 50’s and 60’s
Finally, create your perfect vintage home with vintage styling advice, and take part in vintage crafts and make do and mend workshops.
